Future Leaders

What are the habits and tools that a leader possesses?
What are the seven habits?
I am a responsible person. I take initiative. I choose my actions, attitudes, and mood. I do not blame others for my mistakes.
Habit 1: Be proactive
I do the right thing without being asked, even if no one is watching. I am my own leader.
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
I plan for the future and set goals. I do things that are meaningful and make a difference. I am an important member of my classroom and contribute to the mission and vision of my school. I look for ways to be a good citizen. I am my own leader.
Habit 3: Put first things first
I spend my time doing the things that are important. This means saying no to things that I know I should not do. I make a list of priorities, create a schedule, and follow my plan. I am disciplined and organized. I am my own leader.
Habit 4: Think win/win
I balance the courage to get what I want with considering what others want. When conflicts arise, I look for a solution that works for both parties. I am my own leader.
Habit 5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood
I respect the thoughts and feelings of others. I try to see things from their point of view (model). I listen to others without interrupting. I listen with my ears, eyes, and heart. I express my thoughts with confidence. I am my own leader.
Habit 6: Synergize I appreciate the strengths of others and learn from them. I work together with others, even people who are different from me. I work well in a group. I listen to the ideas of others because I know that by working together, we can find better solutions than any one person can find alone. I look for new alternatives. I am my own leader.
Habit 7: Sharpen the saw I take care of my body by eating healthy foods, exercising, and getting enough sleep. I learn everywhere and all the time, not just in school. I spend time with family and friends. And I take the time to find meaningful ways to help others. I strive for balance in the four parts of my life. I am my own leader.
